The Peloponnese Tour covers a circuit of the northern Peloponnese and Arcadia regions. The map above illustrates the general route from Kalavryta to Dimitsana and Stemnitsa.
Our eight‑day journey through the Peloponnese combines mountain landscapes, traditional villages and ancient history. You’ll spend six days in the saddle exploring a mix of paved roads and dirt trails with full vehicle support. From the ski town of Kalavryta on Mount Chelmos you’ll ride along panoramic ridges, through the dramatic Vouraikos Gorge and into the stone villages of Arcadia. The tour finishes in the mountain village of Stemnitsa before returning to Athens.
Day 1 – Arrival & Transfer to Kalavryta: Meet your guides at Athens Airport and transfer to the picturesque town of Kalavryta. After bike fitting and a short warm‑up ride, enjoy dinner at a local taverna.
Day 2 – Around Mount Chelmos: Ride from Kalavryta into the high meadows of Mount Chelmos. Visit the Aristarchos Telescope and cycle past alpine lakes before descending through fir forests back to town.
Day 3 – Kalavryta Trails: Explore a network of trails and quiet roads around Kalavryta. Highlights include the Cave of the Lakes and the historic Agia Lavra Monastery, birthplace of the Greek War of Independence.
Day 4 – Kalavryta to Dimitsana: Leave Kalavryta and follow a scenic route across the Peloponnese to Dimitsana. Cycle along the rim of the Vouraikos Gorge, cross the plain of Valtos and arrive in the stone‑built mountain village of Dimitsana for the night.
Day 5 – Lousios Gorge: Ride through the dramatic Lousios Gorge, visiting cliff‑side monasteries and ancient water mills. Enjoy a picnic by the river before climbing back to Dimitsana.
Day 6 – Mount Mainalo & Stemnitsa: Pedal across the slopes of Mount Mainalo to the village of Stemnitsa. The route traverses dense fir forest and open pastures with sweeping views. After lunch in Stemnitsa, return to Dimitsana by support vehicle.
Day 7 – Dimitsana Loop & Farewell Dinner: A final loop ride takes you to charming villages like Zygovitsi and Palamari. In the evening celebrate with a farewell dinner of regional specialties.
Day 8 – Return to Athens: After breakfast depart Dimitsana by shuttle back to Athens Airport.
