Your six‑day adventure begins at the ancient sanctuary of Delphi. After a welcome dinner and a briefing, you’ll set out on quiet roads through fir forests and terraced hillsides. Each subsequent day reveals new landscapes: from the alpine village of Karpenissi to the serene shores of Lake Plastira and finally the towering pinnacles of Meteora. Along the way you’ll ride past traditional villages, across mountain passes and alongside crystal‑clear rivers, immersing yourself in the sights, sounds and flavours of Central Greece.
Day 1 – Arrival in Delphi: Meet your guides in Delphi, one of antiquity’s most revered sites, nestled on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. After assembling your e‑bikes and a short warm‑up ride, spend the afternoon exploring the archaeological site and the nearby village of Arachova. Overnight in Delphi.
Day 2 – Delphi to Karpenissi: Today’s ride follows winding mountain roads into the heart of Central Greece. You’ll traverse forested ridges and valleys on your way to the alpine town of Karpenissi, often called the “Switzerland of Greece.” Enjoy dinner in a traditional taverna and overnight in Karpenissi.
Day 3 – Karpenissi to Lake Plastira: Leaving Karpenissi, pedal past quaint mountain villages and orchards before descending towards the Thessalian plain. A final climb brings you to Lake Plastira, a beautiful reservoir surrounded by fir and oak forests. Check into your lakeside hotel and enjoy sunset views over the water.
Day 4 – Plastira Lake Loop: Circle the turquoise waters of Lake Plastira on quiet backroads, stopping to visit historic monasteries and sample local cheeses and wines. After lunch at a lakeside café, you’ll have time for a swim or an optional kayak excursion.
Day 5 – Plastira to Meteora: Today’s ride takes you north through rolling farmland and along the Pinios River to the UNESCO‑listed rock pillars of Meteora. Arriving in the afternoon, you’ll cycle beneath the towering cliffs to Kalambaka, where dinner and a view of the illuminated monasteries await.
Day 6 – Meteora Monasteries: Spend your final riding day exploring the cliff‑top monasteries of Meteora by bike and foot. Ride up winding roads to panoramic viewpoints, then visit two historic monasteries to learn about their history and architecture. After lunch, transfer back to Athens or continue your travels.
This tour traces a northward path across Central Greece, beginning on the slopes of Mount Parnassus and ending among the awe‑inspiring rock pinnacles of Meteora. You’ll traverse mountain passes, skirt lakeside shores and follow river valleys on mostly paved backroads, with vehicle support at all times.
